Peacemakers, A Mini Series

Meet: Nancy Khedouri
There are very few women in the world of diplomacy, who have integrity of the quality of a peacemaker. One of them is my old friend Nancy, who happens to be not only one of the few Jewish women in Bahrain but also one of the very few women to be a MP in Bahrain. She wrote the book: A Jewess in Bahrain, by Nancy Khedouri.

We met in 1994, at a seminar by the Jewish Outreach programme of Rabbi Rashi Simon in Maida Vale. We really learnt, 'how to read Hebrew in five easy lessons' and much more in search of our family roots.

If anybody moves with ease between the different worlds of London, Bahrain and Jewish cultures then it is Nancy Khedouri. She makes everybody feel at ease and instantly forget all differences or barriers or burdens, as she is a human being of the most humble and gentle nature.

But she is also a firm defender of virtues and principles for the highest good of all human beings, and so, she treats all her brothers and sisters with human dignity and reminds those with power at their hands to use it wisely and to be mindful of the vulnerable in every society!

Many people nowadays have not even experienced the gift of selfless friendship and a loyalty based on truth and honesty and integrity.

This is certainly true especially in the world of politics and diplomacy, it is the kind of nurturing quality paired with a clarity that derives from the long history of suffering of a Jewish collective but also of the individual history of the soul;

and humility is never far away or hidden but very much alive in the presence of a human being, who happens to be also a minority as a Jewess in Bahrain, and as a woman MP in a male dominated council and amongst royal advisors.

Never underestimate the frequency of pure light, as it radiates even in dark hours and fruitless seeming negotiations in the United Nations and attunes even old rigid structures to new shifts at one smiling sight! And breaks down all rifts that are artificially put up by unseen dark forces, who hate to give up their delusional might and their obsession with causing in others strategically fright, even in a manipulated debate!

Blessed are the peace makers, as they do not ask to be crowned or to be luxuriously gowned but who serve their community, country, state and family selflessly and who are empowered simply by the human spirit in their hearts!

 Their dedication to truth and love for justice and devotion to peace is their driving force and the world does well to listen, what they do from their innermost hearts tell, as it will keep human beings one day safe from a see that does one thing say but which does secretly its word betray, and sends out its sword!

And a peacemaker can tell, on which tree grows the real fruit that negotiates the peace deal and from which tree the foul one fell!
